Ann Packard Ladd was born in Saranac Lake, a daughter of Dr. Edward N. Packard and Mary Bissel Betts Packard. Growing up she was a friend and neighbor of Nancy Connely. As teenagers the two visited Dick Ray at the Trudeau Sanatorium and at the Ray Brook State Hospital; they are pictured on pages 30 and 34 in Ray's book, Saranac, 1937-1940. Ann Ladd graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1939, and from Wellesley College in 1944. She was buried in the family plot in Pine Ridge Cemetery.

Ann Packard of 142 Park Avenue is pictured in the 1938 Canaras as a graduating senior at Saranac Lake High School.

Ann Ladd's obituary was published in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise in 2009.
