William Francis Dupree was president of the Saranac Lake Bobsled Club in 1948 and ran the Lakemont Tourist Home at 102 Lake Flower Avenue. With Jim Bickford, Tom Hicks, and his brother, Donald V. Dupree, he took bronze in the 1948 Winter Olympics. 1 He is described as the "220-pound brakeman of Saranac Lake who represented the United States in the 1937-38 World Championships in Switzerland and Germany as No. 2 man on Donna Fox's crew." 2
He was a World War II veteran.
